Project Title: 33/11kV Substation Commissioning & Complete Power Distribution Facility Client Sector: Heavy Industrial Manufacturing (Textile / RMG Sector) Location: Gazipur Industrial Zone, Bangladesh
📋 Project Overview
MASS Contracting & Engineering Ltd. was awarded the complete turnkey contract to design, supply, install, and commission a high-capacity 33/11kV electrical substation alongside a comprehensive plant-wide power distribution system. The primary goal was to ensure uninterrupted, stable power infrastructure capable of supporting heavy automated manufacturing machinery while strictly adhering to safety and energy-efficiency compliance codes.
⚙️ Scope of Work & Deliverables
-
Substation Setup: Installed 33kV and 11kV step-down power transformers, vacuum circuit breakers (VCB), gas-insulated switchgears (GIS), and high-voltage protection relay panels.
-
Busbar Trunking System (BBT): Deployed a modern, high-ampere copper Busbar Trunking System throughout the facility to replace traditional heavy cabling, optimizing space and reducing transmission power losses.
-
Backup Power & Synchronizing: Integrated a 1500 KVA diesel generator set with an Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) panel and automatic synchronizing systems for seamless transition during power grid fluctuations.
-
Earthing & Lightning Protection: Designed and implemented an advanced chemical earthing system alongside an Early Streamer Emission (ESE) lightning arrester network to safeguard industrial assets.
🏆 Project Impact & Results
The project was completed ahead of schedule with zero safety incidents. The implementation of the BBT system and high-efficiency transformers reduced the plant’s internal line losses by 12%, ensuring a highly reliable, safe, and energy-compliant power grid for the factory’s continuous operations.
